Opportunity

We discovered several shortcomings of our current timesheet solution for Annualised Salary. These were poor UX, slow third-party development, and high risk dependencies with other Sage systems.

To overcome these gaps the business decided that it was better to design and build timesheets in-house on Sage ESS.

Research

I conducted stakeholder and user contextual interviews to understand the pain points of our current solution. From my findings I constructed a couple of personas.

I then facilitated a user story mapping workshop to strategise our development and come up with our MVP. A competitive analysis was then done to see how others had solved the problem.

Design

With our MVP decided I designed the user journey. With some inspiration from some our direct and indirect competitors I sketched out a few ideas and shared them around for feedback. I then proceeded to create a prototype to make sure it was techinically feasible and to test among our users.
